From Olympia,Washington, much known as the place where K Records is located at,new young trio Gun Outfit has come out and purely play their own Lo-Fi sound that would remind you of Dinosaur Jr and Meat Puppets and/or any other bands in 90s.
A few weeks back their debut full length Dim Light was released on PPM,which Dean,No Age,runs constantly.I got it as soon as it was stocked at a record store, unfortunately,I couldn't listen to yet because I have no turntable here in Toronto. So downloading six demo songs on their website, they don't have MySpace, and one song, which will be one of the best songs this year for sure,at SXSW webpage is the only way for me to listen to their songs right now. Those seven songs are perfectly impressive enough to tempt me to the purchase of LP even it's impossible to listen to it here.
Gun Outfit is going to play some shows at SXSW so I must get crazy.

A I D S W O L F - W E M U L T I P L Y
I think there are tons of things to write here before this post, but I can't help myself but do this.
Last night was the second time to see AIDS Wolf in my entire life,it's not long though.
I knew they came to play in Toronto in January after it finished.
Can you guess how mush I regretted???
Anyway, there were 4 bands playing last night and no one played bass!
It might make you think it weird or something wrong there, but you know it must be cool, especially for me.
First band called Heavens played,in my opinion, shoegaze sound added more noise.
The combination of the girl and boy singers were really nice.
Second was Thrashed Genes,I saw them once before, which was a show of The Chinese Stars and An Albatross last October.
I like their sounds,however,nothing special for me,unfortunately.
U.S. Girls was the third, but "I never get ready." she said to me before she got READY.
The show was a beautiful 20-minutes blast.
"I'm going to try to play 15 minutes tonight." she said when I told her that I had heard her show was only 8 minutes, and she did.
The last was,of course,AIDS Wolf.
I can't say anything but amazing.
Audience were moshing violently during the show,it was really fun though.
I just, yes, just enjoyed it and filmed all songs except the third song and took some pictures of the great show.
After the show I talked to Chloe, vocalist of AIDS Wolf, about SXSW,blog things and C.Y.M..
She recognized that I was a person who left a comment on their blog a few weeks back, which made me so glad.
They are going to play 9 shows at SXSW so I'm going to see them at one or more of them for sure.
I'm so excited!!!

Recently I've been making some noise by using GarageBand.
I'd never used it since I got first PowerBook 5 or 6 years ago.
Anyways,I found it was possible to make kind of a DJ thing by GarageBand and some applications.
Yeah,I made a sort of mixtape, not a real one though, for a DJ party called Lullaby that my friend organized and I will dj there on April 5.
Songs in it are listed below.
Glass Candy - Beatific
The Big Pink - Too Young To Love
Handsome Furs - I'm Confused
Blank Dogs - Blaring Speeches
Crocodiles - Soft Skull (In My Room)
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Young Adult Friction
Vivian Girls - Second Date
The Besties - The Bone Valley Deposit
The Carrots - Break Away
Crystal Stilts - The Sinking
The Splinters - Ch-Ch-Ch-Cha
Finally Punk - Hypertension
Teenage Waistband - Honey Sticky

Three members from two Canada based bands I like the most,AIDS Wolf and The Sick Lipstick (R.I.P.),started a new project called C.Y.M.This news totally blew out my mind this morning.
Chloe (AIDS Wolf) plays guitar and sings/screams,Yannick (AIDS Wolf) hits his lovely partners hard and Mark (The Sick Lipstick) swings the bottom line.
A few years back,breaking-up of The Sick Lipstick made me so sad,of course I've never seen their shows.
Then one other band,Les Georges Leningrad, from Montreal, broke up suddenly, which also made me feel bad.
I think there are tons of great bands/artists in Canada, but information about them don't come overseas oftentimes and neither do bands/artists.
I really wanted to see the shows of Les Georges Leningrad and The Sick Lipstick when I was in Japan.
I should have come here earlier.
This must be true.
But now,AIDS Wolf is still making brilliant pulses of what music and art are between noise and cities.
This can be a hope for the future.
Anyways,C.Y.M. will get their children released out of the dirty crammed room very soon.
They are really different from both AIDS Wolf and The Sick Lipstick but splendid for everyone who hates MTV things.

I know that most of you guys reading this kinda beautiful shit never heard of a band called Shobu.
They probably get more people seeing their live performance by the latest EP,Bodybuilder.
Shobu mainly practice and play somewhere in Tokyo, but the sound is not really Japanese.
Some people might categorize them as Hardcore,on the other hands there must be a lot of Hardcore lovers who criticize them.
Actually,I don't know what Shobu play like.
Monika, playing bass-guitar and singing, talked to me she really liked AIDS Wolf,Night Wounds (R.I.P.),Daughters and The Locust etc. before and she is a friend of Mika Miko, they played together last June as a part of Mika Miko's Japan tour,so they might have affected her creativity.
When you google or just visit Shobu's MySpace, you would think of something you have ever seen and heard, but they are not it.

Veronica, from Finally Punk and The Carrots, might be now one of the enthusiastically hardworking players in the world of the indie music scene.
Mutating Meltdown consists of her and Erin, also from Finally Punk, and Chad, from Zom Zoms, and sounds bit of goth-chic cheap post punk, reminding me of Numbers and Erase Errata and Meho Plaza, all of which are from California, though.
Their debut 7" will be out in January, 2009 from M'lady's Records, releasing Finally Punk already and waiting to come Jenny Hoyston's out of the space.

N O A G E
They hit Toronto twice or more.

It's passed only four months since last time they played at Horseshoe.
It was a terribly humid night and more inside the tiny room for them to play in the historical bar.
There was a crowd of more than 400 people,I guessed, and half of them might have been young kids, under 19.
One young kid talked to me when I was in line to wait for the room opening.
Hey,if I had been in Japan, could I have heard the words like his saying?
Absolutely,NO.
I hope young kids in Japan will change their own style and attitude to everything about music and art and etc.
Anyways,at this time, however, there was no teenager in Lee's Palace.
Why not?
Do you know why No Age called themselves No Age?
Sucks.
I will never go to the place they played on November 21 unless something special to me is planned.
Before No Age played,Silk Flowers, from New York City, and Soft Circle, from Brooklyn,as solo project by Hisham, who used to be in Pixeltan and Black Dice, played as openers of the show.
Silk Flowers' psychedelically freak out synth sound took me to the heaven.
No sooner had I returned to the ground safely than Soft Circle took me higher than the heaven by the layers of the hyper experimental dance music.
I've never seen any shows of Black Dice and Pixeltan and it would be impossible forever,so I was really happy to see him playing.
Staying at the higher place,I saw No Age playing on the stage.
I took many pictures and movies, some of which had already put up to Flickr and YouTube, and danced during the very last three or four songs.
They played some new songs and they were so nice.
If you go to their show, please listen to and see carefully.
After the show,we moved to another place where a guy organized an event as a secret show for No Age to have a chance to play in front of young kids.
It was located on Bathurst street between King street and Richmond street and like a deserted warehouse, actually it reminded me of Death By Audio,Brooklyn, where PWRFL POWER,one of my Japanese friends, played in the end of June.
There was full of people who got drunk and were young except some hicks in the colorless building.
We managed to put some equipments inside, waiting for a band from Toronto started.
They sounded just like Hardcore.
It was fun and their performance was filled with much violent energy, but there was a lack of something special.
After the twenty-minute storm of violence,No Age was going to start playing.
In fact, they played two songs right through.
But the soundsystem there was not good or something happened at the moment, which could throw No Age into trouble.
They tried to recover their own sound, but it seemed so tough, then Dean, singer and drummer, quit singing and Randy, guitarist, played some cover songs.
It could have grabbed hearts of people there shortly.
After all, they couldn't play their own songs, but it was so exciting and they could have had fun,I don't know.
I left there after chatting with Dean and Hisham for a while.

F I N A L L Y P U N K

How was your Halloween?
After those crazy parties in the cities in the North America,Finally Punk released their great new seven inch called Hypertension from M'Lady's Records.
I've really been looking forward to it coming out since the song,Hypertension, appeared on their MySpace.
It's so short and might get you hypertension.
Actually, they have never changed their style at all,but the EP is pretty brilliant.
Now they are being ready to go touring around US and UK.
Elizabeth, one of singers in Finally Punk, told me they will be playing at SXSW too.
Yes,it's time to dance all day long!
